Why You Should Ditch Your Tennis Shoes for STAND+ Gales® Frontline Shoes

At STAND+, we found when surveying nurses most answered that they wear athletic tennis shoes to work. A comfortable tennis shoe might seem like a reliable option, however, what many people do not know is that the average tennis shoe does not have the comfort, support, or protection you need for your 10-12 hour shifts.  Below are just a few reasons as to why you should ditch your tennis shoes for STAND+ Gales® Frontline Shoes.

Comfort and Support

Tennis shoes are designed for running and other functions that are not suitable for people who stand on their feet all day. The average insole of a tennis shoe only provides up to 6 hours of comfort. For someone who is on their feet for up to 10-12 hours a day, you need a shoe that will provide comfort that lasts the whole duration of your shift, not just for the first half of it. This is why STAND+ worked with OrthoLite®, a leading medical grade insole manufacturer, to create an insole that has cushioning that lasts your whole shift. STAND+ insoles also have an additional 7mm of arch support to further support your feet.

Waterproof and Antimicrobial

Most tennis shoes are made out of mesh or other non waterproof material which can expose your feet to any infectious liquids that might get spilled during your shift. Additionally, wet shoes are a great breeding ground for bacteria growth. At STAND+ we recognized this hazard and designed our shoes to be 100% waterproof and antimicrobial. The antimicrobial technology that is in both our outsoles and insoles protect you from fungus, bacteria and odor, something tennis shoes (and other nursing shoes in the market) do not have.

Easy to Clean

Due to the mesh material and laces that most tennis shoes have, it can be very difficult to quickly clean off blood and other fluids/liquids that might get spilled on your shoes. With STAND+ being completely waterproof and laceless it takes just seconds to wipe them clean. Not only are the outsoles incredibly easy to clean but so are our insoles. Our insoles are removable and machine washable, just throw them in the washing machine and they will come out looking new each time.

Slip Resistant

The majority of tennis shoes are not slip resistant and only have outsoles that provide traction on dry surfaces. We know that floors can become extremely slippery so when designing our shoes we made sure they had firm grip soles to ensure the safety of the person wearing them.
